Default Low price selling & Freebies

I'm doing quite some farming with my warrior every now and then, which results in some decent items over time, so that I decided to do an inventory clearing sale recently.

The farming has left me with enough gold and since I'm not interested in the expensive crafter or shiverpeaks armors, I don't really care about the profit, as I'm more than set already - same goes for the alts in the account.

Therefore I'm selling the items at a price, I think they would be worth selling for and not trying to accumulate even more wealth.
Anything above 10k is a rip off in my eyes and I wouldn't spend more on an item (sup vigor & absorption are the exception, due to trader prices), so that I'm also only selling my things between 1-10k.

If an item doesn't sell, or I realize that the buyer is a newbie, then I also don't mind giving it away for free.
I don't mind if that's true or not, as long as there are a few real newbies in those numbers, then that means mission accomplished for me
This can actually be harder than selling an item sometimes, as lots of people think it's some kind of scam.

Anyway,
just wanted to point out that despite all the scamming & rediculously overpriced item sales and complaints ingame and in these forums, there are still people out there, who don't mind helping the newbies or selling items to fair prices.

If s.o. salvages a perfect mod out of the item and sells it for xxx% more than he paid for it, then good for you.
If a newbie won't have to worry about saving 100k to get his perfect bow, but suddenly gets it for a much lower price or even free, then good for you too.

It might just be a small amount, but I hope this leaves at least a tiny impact on the market and on the players I trade with to overcome those 100k item sales.

Why don't you put a list in the sell forum along with the prices that you're charging? I'd definitely go look.

I give stuff away all the time. I charge the same as what I can get from the merchant. Or I just salvage it and sell the materials cheap.

Me too, if I cant use it I ask my friends, if they cant use it I *might* try to sell it, and if it doesnt sell after a few minutes I usually give it away to the first person asking newb questions I see.

Money is pointless in GW, I have said it time and time again, yet fools keep paying 1m for junk thats often not better, or only slightly better, then collector items.

I agree that money is useless come the end of the game. Ecto and shards, spending hundreds of thousands of gold just to look pretty. Wow, talk about trying to compensate for something...

Regardless, I would also be interested in a list of items if you'd be so kind as to provide one .

Ha,
I didn't intend on selling my stuff through this post, so I won't provide any details, sorry :P
If you just made a nice deal, then it might have been me you've been trading with...

It's nice to see though, that so many other players avoid being sucked in to the overpriced GW economy.

Just seeing all those WTS floods especially in the general chat with overpriced items or even collector items at sky high prices leaves a bad impression. Add a few surprising whispers after my trades and that's what lead me to the original post.

I just wish a "WTS" in the general channel would result in the poster dropping all his inventory items and getting them asigned to random bystanders, but that's another topic.

i hear ya about people charging ridiculous prices for stuff, i sold an axe i got in fissure for 10k one time, i thought wow i cant believe they gave me that much for an axe, later i find out people are selling them on ebay for $250 and people are bidding, it is ridiculous, talk about being obsessed with a videogame, if guildwars itsself was over 50 bucks i wouldnt even think about playing it, so i am sure not gonna pay money for some ingame item, also i wouldnt give a million gold for something, that is so dumb

On my way to fight internet words i recently gave away a few max damage stormbows and eternal bows to the first person that would say "please" or even write a whole sentence instead of "plz!!11!" or "gimme!!!".

And i plan on doing it again
Why spam those things for in game currency, why rip others? It is just a game

I have never participated in trades of any sort, or ever even used the trade menu, so I don't give freebies that way. But on missions when people ask for an item that just dropped for me, and I don't need it, I usually just drop it again, so they can have it.
